Papagaff DRAFTING FOR THEBengals
Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall
B
ValueA-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Bengals let Majors fall into their laps, and walked away with a B. When a board-topper like Jake Majors slides to slot 117, you do not overthink it, and the Bengals did not.
The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
Tetairoa McMillan
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tetairoa McMillan in the 17th overall pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick49
Rnd2
Jihaad Campbell
They read the board right and Jihaad Campbell was the payoff at the 49th pick. The roster fit checks out.
Pick81
Rnd3
Donovan Jackson
No edge and no loss on Donovan Jackson in the Round 3 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick117
Rnd4
Jake Majors
Somehow Jake Majors was still sitting there in Round 4, Pick 16, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
