Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B
ValueA NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Tuten should have been long gone. The Commanders pounced, and earned a B.

You build a draft on nights like this. Bhayshul Tuten had no business being available in the 205th overall pick, and the Commanders did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

The offense got the lion's share of the attention. The phones were busy but the ledger stayed level.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Luther Burden III
In the 30th pick they get a matchup problem out wide, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick61 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Malaki Starks at the 61st overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick128 Rnd4 Danny Stutsman
Danny Stutsman at No. 128 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick132 Rnd4 Anthony Belton
The board fumbled Anthony Belton all the way to the Round 4 slot, and they scooped it up. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick205 Rnd6 Bhayshul Tuten
Somehow Bhayshul Tuten was still sitting there in Round 6, Pick 29, and they pounced on premier running back value. The roster fit checks out.
Pick245 Rnd7 Craig Woodson
Taking Craig Woodson in slot 245 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
