Somewhere a general manager is explaining how JD Bertrand got past him. The Lions do not have to explain a thing at the 247th overall pick. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
