Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
The Seahawks won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B+.

Whoever sat across the table from the Seahawks should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. The bottom line is a respectable B+.

Reaching for Watson left real value on the table behind him. That Oladapo pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 JC Latham
In the 25th overall pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick62 Rnd2 Christian Haynes
Fair-plus on Christian Haynes, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick81 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
Cooper Beebe at pick No. 81 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick102 Rnd4 Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
Taking Dadrion Taylor-Demerson in Round 4, Pick 2 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick118 Rnd4 Michael Pratt
They reached a country mile for Michael Pratt at No. 118, and the board is aghast. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick132 Rnd4 Luke McCaffrey
Value said wait; Luke McCaffrey in the Round 4 slot says they were not listening. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick165 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
They will replay Kitan Oladapo at the 165th pick for years; that is how good the value is. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick179 Rnd6 Nathaniel Watson
They reached into another round for Nathaniel Watson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick192 Rnd6 Fabien Lovett
Fabien Lovett slipping to pick 192 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick215 Rnd6 Jase McClellan
They paid sticker price for Jase McClellan in the 215th overall pick, and that is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick235 Rnd7 Michael Barrett
They jumped the gun on Michael Barrett, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
