Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The 49ers cashed the board's mistake on Tracy Jr.: B.

Somebody in slot 249 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The 49ers sat still while Tyrone Tracy Jr., the No. 206 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Jordan Morgan
In the 31st pick they get an anchor for the offensive line. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick63 Rnd2 Zach Frazier
Zach Frazier in pick 63 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick94 Rnd3 Gabriel Murphy
Gabriel Murphy is a better player than slot 94 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The roster fit checks out.
Pick98 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
Zak Zinter at pick No. 98 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick132 Rnd4 Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones slid further than he should have, and No. 132 is lovely value for the cornerback. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick176 Rnd6 Renardo Green
They robbed the room for Renardo Green here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick209 Rnd6 Michael Barrett
Taking Michael Barrett in the 209th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick214 Rnd6 Isaiah Davis
You do not let a running back like Isaiah Davis reach the Round 6 slot and blink. They did not. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick215 Rnd6 Daijahn Anthony
A cornerback of that caliber at pick 215 is the definition of value, full stop. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick249 Rnd7 Tyrone Tracy Jr.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. at Round 7, Pick 29 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
