The Blake Watson pick is the one that will follow the Lions into the fall. They took him 29 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. No fireworks, but a solid B.

That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
