DutchNugget DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks

Draft Grade — Seahawks

FutureC
Larceny in pick No. 234 lands the Seahawks a B, Jones and all. Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Seahawks came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.
The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Jones value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. With wide receiver, quarterback and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on DT-EDGE is the choice that costs them.
They are betting Frazier proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick13
Rnd1
Jer'Zhan Newton
In pick 13 they get a disruptive interior force. A real need, handled.
Pick16
Rnd1
JC Latham
JC Latham in Round 1, Pick 16 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick39
Rnd2
Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
Fair-plus on Ennis Rakestraw Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick48
Rnd2
T'Vondre Sweat
The board had cheaper options than T'Vondre Sweat at the 48th overall pick, and it noticed. The roster fit checks out.
Pick49
Rnd2
Zach Frazier
They went early on Zach Frazier in the Round 2 slot, and the value did not follow. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick70
Rnd3
Junior Colson
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Junior Colson. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick75
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
They took Cooper Beebe at par in No. 75, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick78
Rnd3
Maason Smith
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the 78th pick on Maason Smith with wide receiver, quarterback and other spots unsolved.
Pick80
Rnd3
Christian Haynes
A clean, defensible pick in the 80th overall pick with a little surplus value in Christian Haynes. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick81
Rnd3
Cade Stover
They bypassed pressing needs at wide receiver, quarterback and other spots to take Cade Stover, a TE-EDGE that was not the priority.
Pick107
Rnd4
Dominick Puni
A tidy little value on Dominick Puni in Round 4, Pick 7, a step better than break-even. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick115
Rnd4
Sataoa Laumea
No edge and no loss on Sataoa Laumea in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick118
Rnd4
James Williams
James Williams at slot 118 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick151
Rnd5
Jaylin Simpson
By-the-book stuff, Jaylin Simpson at pick 151 squarely in line with his ranking. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick154
Rnd5
Kitan Oladapo
A conviction pick on Kitan Oladapo at No. 154 that the board grades a round light. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick173
Rnd5
Michael Barrett
A reach on Michael Barrett in the Round 5 slot; the board had better options right there. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick194
Rnd6
Jaylen Harrell
They paid sticker price for Jaylen Harrell in pick No. 194, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick211
Rnd6
Jared Wiley
Nothing to complain about; Jared Wiley went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It fills a real need, too.
Pick234
Rnd7
Myles Jones
They robbed the room for Myles Jones here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick236
Rnd7
Maurice Smith
They paid a round early for Maurice Smith in slot 236, more than the board wanted. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
