Draft Grade — Packers
Overall C+
ValueC- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The jury is out on the Packers. For now, C+.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the Packers would have aced it. Thor Griffith at pick 198 is 116 spots clear of where he belonged.

That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.

So much rides on Derrick Harmon that the real verdict is a season or two away.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Derrick Harmon
In pick No. 23 they get a load in the middle at fair value.
Pick54 Rnd2 Jack Bech
They jumped the gun on Jack Bech, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick87 Rnd3 Terrance Ferguson
Terrance Ferguson at the Round 3 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick139 Rnd5 Jacob Parrish
The board fumbled Jacob Parrish all the way to the 139th overall pick, and they scooped it up. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick159 Rnd5 CJ West
CJ West in No. 159 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick187 Rnd6 Isaac TeSlaa
This one needs a full-page explanation: Isaac TeSlaa in pick 187, miles early. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick198 Rnd6 Thor Griffith
They reached a country mile for Thor Griffith at the Round 6 slot, and the board is aghast. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick237 Rnd7 Ethan Downs
A wild overpay on Ethan Downs in slot 237, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick250 Rnd7 Jalen Travis
Jalen Travis at pick 250 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
