A costly weekend of dealing drags the Panthers to a D-.

The Panthers treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending pick No. 226 on Jordan Whittington a full 45 spots early.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
