Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Panthers spent slot 145 on Davison Igbinosun, a name most had 80 spots down the list.

That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.
