The trade table was where it all came apart. The Panthers shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.

The Stover value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. If McCaffrey pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.
