Draft Grade — Patriots

FutureA+
Larceny in the 220th pick lands the Patriots a A-, Marks and all. Whoever sat across the table from the Patriots should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. The sum of the weekend is a deserved A-.
On value alone, Marks makes the weekend a net positive. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They are betting Conerly Jr. proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Josh Conerly Jr. and all.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Josh Conerly Jr.
In the 24th overall pick they get an anchor for the offensive line, even if it was a touch early.
Pick38
Rnd2
Derrick Harmon
Derrick Harmon slipping to No. 38 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick69
Rnd3
Jayden Higgins
The board had Jayden Higgins higher than slot 69, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick77
Rnd3
Ozzy Trapilo
Ozzy Trapilo in the Round 3 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick97
Rnd3
Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba in Round 3, Pick 33 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick106
Rnd4
Jared Wilson
They did well to land Jared Wilson in pick 106, just ahead of his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick144
Rnd5
Bhayshul Tuten
Bhayshul Tuten in the 144th pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It fills a real need, too.
Pick217
Rnd7
Nazir Stackhouse
Nice patience on Nazir Stackhouse, who had no business lasting to Round 7, Pick 1. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick220
Rnd7
Woody Marks
They barely believed it either: Woody Marks still on the board at No. 220. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick238
Rnd7
Akili Arnold
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Akili Arnold at slot 238. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
