The Patriots worked the phones like thieves and earned a B+. Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Patriots came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Gould. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. The veteran additions, Ryan Ramczyk chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
