The Patriots let Cowing fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-. The Patriots did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Jacob Cowing fell into pick No. 253.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Sanders has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
