There is a lot to like until you notice interior defensive lineman is still a hole. The Patriots never got to the one that mattered most.

If Muhammad pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. However the rest shakes out, Lachey at that price is a win they earned. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
