Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesC+ FutureA
The Patriots drew a line under the quarterback search with Daniels: B.

The Patriots spent the pick that matters most on Jayden Daniels, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. The bottom line is a respectable B.

That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. All has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.

The Stover pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher and safety still on the board.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In the 7th pick they get their quarterback of the future. A real need, handled.
Pick34 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
Value with a capital V on Jordan Morgan in pick 34, a genuine coup. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick46 Rnd2 Xavier Worthy
By-the-book stuff, Xavier Worthy at pick No. 46 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick68 Rnd3 Payton Wilson
Payton Wilson at Round 3, Pick 4 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick82 Rnd3 Cade Stover
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Cade Stover at TE-EDGE with edge rusher and safety open.
Pick103 Rnd4 Tyler Davis
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tyler Davis in the 103rd overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick139 Rnd5 Cam Hart
Good price on Cam Hart in No. 139, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick184 Rnd6 Erick All
They reached a country mile for Erick All at slot 184, and the board is aghast. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick224 Rnd7 De'Corian Clark
Circle this one: De'Corian Clark at Round 7, Pick 4 is a fall that decides a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick232 Rnd7 Jalen Berger
A running back of that caliber at pick 232 is the definition of value, full stop. It fills a real need, too.
