The Eagles lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.

If Yarns pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Gabriel at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
