Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Eagles got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D-.

The tape said wait; the Eagles did not. Que Robinson went at the Round 5 slot, a good 99 picks before the board was ready.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

They banked enough surplus on Shough to cover a lot of smaller sins. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, running back very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a moveable chess piece at tight end, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick64 Rnd2 Xavier Restrepo
By-the-book stuff, Xavier Restrepo at pick No. 64 squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick80 Rnd3 Chris Paul Jr.
Chris Paul Jr. at the Round 3 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick96 Rnd3 Charles Grant
No drama and no debate, Charles Grant went about where he belonged in pick 96. It fills a real need, too.
Pick117 Rnd4 Malachi Moore
They read the board right and Malachi Moore was the payoff at the 117th pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick123 Rnd4 O'Donnell Fortune
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on O'Donnell Fortune. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick134 Rnd4 Joshua Farmer
Joshua Farmer is a better player than the 134th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick151 Rnd5 Que Robinson
Value said wait; Que Robinson in the Round 5 slot says they were not listening. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick161 Rnd5 Tyler Shough
Tyler Shough in the 161st pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick164 Rnd5 Clay Webb
Clay Webb at pick No. 164 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick165 Rnd5 Oronde Gadsden II
Oronde Gadsden II at Round 5, Pick 27 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick168 Rnd5 Howard Cross III
A real head-scratcher, Howard Cross III in slot 168 is miles ahead of his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick189 Rnd6 Gino Garcia
Gino Garcia at No. 189 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
