The Eagles lost the trade table, and the D tells the story. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Eagles did exactly that with Davin Vann in slot 162. A D that will need time and luck to look better.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Landing Howard that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The Courtland Sutton pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
