The Chiefs put a flag in the ground for Josh Proctor, 92 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit.

It is not that Smith is a bad player; it is that the Chiefs had louder needs to answer first. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
