The Bears lost the trade table, and the D tells the story.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Bears shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. Hard to defend, and the D reflects that.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The cost of the Webb reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

The veteran additions, Jalen Ramsey chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
