A costly weekend of dealing drags the 49ers to a D-.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The 49ers did exactly that with Dylan Fairchild in the 47th overall pick. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. It is not that Borregales is a bad player; it is that the 49ers had louder needs to answer first.

A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want. Getting Membou where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and wide receiver is still a hole.
