The Steelers got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the C-.

Somebody took the Steelers to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. Call it a C- and check back in two years.

They will need Thornton Jr. to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up. The veteran additions, Germaine Pratt chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

If Walter Nolen and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

A big swing on Jalen Milroe at the 72nd pick, well ahead of any board in the building. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.

No drama and no debate, Dillon Gabriel went about where he belonged in pick No. 123. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.

Pat Bryant in pick 153 is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.

This one needs a full-page explanation: Dont'e Thornton Jr. in the Round 5 slot, miles early. It fills a real need, too.

They took Carson Vinson at par in slot 229, which is nothing to complain about. A minor need, but a need all the same.
