The Steelers lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. A F, plain and simple.

They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. If Howard pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. That Ferguson pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

In the end, a class that has to defy its grades just to matter.
