Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Smael Mondon Jr. got past him. The Steelers do not have to explain a thing at pick 229.

Every board in the league had Howard lower, and that gap is the story. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
