The Cardinals clearly saw something nobody else did in Omar Speights, taking him 115 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.

Wilson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
