Draft Grade — Bears
Overall C+
ValueB- NeedB- TradesD+ FutureB-
The Bears finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a C+.

The Bears spent the pick that matters most on Caleb Williams, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.

A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. The Rice reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They banked enough surplus on Pritchett to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Call it incomplete, and check back in a couple of seasons.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In the 1st pick they get their quarterback of the future. A real need, handled.
Pick9 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In slot 9 they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick75 Rnd3 Brenden Rice
They left a pile of value on the table to take Brenden Rice this early at Round 3, Pick 11. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick111 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
Ben Sinnott at pick No. 111 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick118 Rnd4 Cole Bishop
The board had Cole Bishop higher than pick 118, and the safety fell to them anyway. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick123 Rnd4 Mekhi Wingo
They let Mekhi Wingo come to them and pounced at No. 123. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick143 Rnd5 Isaiah Davis
A big swing on Isaiah Davis at the Round 5 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick150 Rnd5 Nehemiah Pritchett
Value with a capital V on Nehemiah Pritchett in the 150th overall pick, a genuine coup. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
