Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Cardinals, and a B- to prove it.

There is a lot to like until you notice quarterback is still a hole. The Cardinals never got to the one that mattered most.

Braswell has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The Hall Jr. steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Malik Nabers
In the 4th pick they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick27 Rnd1 Jordan Morgan
In No. 27 they get a building block for the line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick35 Rnd2 Chris Braswell
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Chris Braswell well ahead of where he belonged. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick71 Rnd3 Christian Mahogany
No drama and no debate, Christian Mahogany went about where he belonged in the 71st overall pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick75 Rnd3 Marist Liufau
A reach on Marist Liufau in pick 75; the board had better options right there. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick90 Rnd3 Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson in slot 90 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick105 Rnd4 Michael Hall Jr.
A quiet steal in the Round 4 slot: Michael Hall Jr. for less than the market said. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick123 Rnd4 Justin Eboigbe
A straight-up fair deal on Justin Eboigbe at Round 4, Pick 23, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick137 Rnd5 Javion Cohen
The board had cheaper options than Javion Cohen at the 137th overall pick, and it noticed. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick188 Rnd6 Christian Jones
A conviction pick on Christian Jones at slot 188 that the board grades a round light. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick222 Rnd7 Zakhari Franklin
A premium they did not need to pay, Zakhari Franklin a notch or two before his time. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick224 Rnd7 Jha'Quan Jackson
A clean, defensible pick in the 224th pick with a little surplus value in Jha'Quan Jackson. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
