After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Patriots committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.

Carson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
