They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Tyler Owens, 31 picks early at Round 6, Pick 41. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. That Simpson pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

The trade work was a quiet net positive. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
