Nobody had Barryn Sorrell this high, and it is not close. The 49ers reached 144 spots to get him at No. 170. The math is unkind, and the D- follows.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Jackson.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
