The Bills cashed the board's mistake on Pritchett: B-. When a board-topper like Nehemiah Pritchett slides to pick 202, you do not overthink it, and the Bills did not. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
Taylor III has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. That linebacker hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Good work on the whole, with linebacker the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Brian Thomas Jr.
In the 28th overall pick they get a go-to option on the outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick60
Rnd2
Leonard Taylor III
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Leonard Taylor III. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick99
Rnd3
Cole Bishop
The board had cheaper options than Cole Bishop at the Round 3 slot, and it noticed. The roster fit checks out.
Pick129
Rnd4
Blake Fisher
A offensive lineman of that caliber at pick No. 129 is the definition of value, full stop. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick143
Rnd5
James Williams
They robbed the room for James Williams here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick159
Rnd5
Ainias Smith
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Ainias Smith in pick 159, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick162
Rnd5
Andru Phillips
Somehow Andru Phillips was still sitting there in slot 162, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick202
Rnd6
Nehemiah Pritchett
Nehemiah Pritchett in Round 6, Pick 27 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick246
Rnd7
Frank Gore Jr.
Frank Gore Jr. in Round 7, Pick 26 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick256
Rnd7
Daijahn Anthony
Daijahn Anthony slipping to pick No. 256 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
