The Chiefs lost the trade table, and the C tells the story. The Chiefs looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Isaac TeSlaa at Round 6, Pick 12 regardless, 35 picks early. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C in the wash.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Jones Jr. at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.
Hit on Wyatt Milum and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
