The 49ers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The 49ers did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to running back, which was the need that mattered most. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

Reaching for Walker left real value on the table behind him. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
