The board owed the 49ers one, and it paid up: Tahj Brooks, the No. 115 name on the board, sitting there at the 254th overall pick like a gift left on the doorstep.

The 49ers indulged a want in Mukuba while a need in quarterback and edge rusher stayed open. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Every board in the league had Jackson lower, and that gap is the story.

They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
