Kingston DRAFTING FOR THESteelers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall
B
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Steelers and Taylor: B. Call it larceny. Roc Taylor sat on the board until No. 229, and the Steelers did not need to be asked twice.
The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Harmon has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
Derrick Harmon
In Round 1, Pick 21 they get an anchor for the defensive front, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick83
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson at the 83rd overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick123
Rnd4
Kyle McCord
Kyle McCord in the 123rd pick is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick156
Rnd5
Cody Simon
Taking Cody Simon in the Round 5 slot is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick185
Rnd6
Jack Nelson
Nice patience on Jack Nelson, who had no business lasting to pick No. 185. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick229
Rnd7
Roc Taylor
Somehow Roc Taylor was still sitting there in pick 229, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
