Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureC
The Seahawks let Skattebo fall and pounced. Final grade: D-.

The Seahawks clearly saw something nobody else did in Kyle McCord, taking him 46 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 Will Campbell
In the 17th overall pick they get a building block for the line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick18 Rnd1 Jack Sawyer
In the 18th pick they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick33 Rnd2 Tate Ratledge
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tate Ratledge. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick67 Rnd3 Kyle McCord
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Kyle McCord. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick82 Rnd3 Colston Loveland
Colston Loveland at No. 82 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick102 Rnd4 Omarr Norman-Lott
The board fumbled Omarr Norman-Lott all the way to slot 102, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick117 Rnd4 Sebastian Castro
Sebastian Castro in the 117th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick136 Rnd4 Demetrius Knight Jr.
Somehow Demetrius Knight Jr. was still sitting there in pick 136, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick171 Rnd5 Kobe Hudson
A reach on Kobe Hudson in pick No. 171; the board had better options right there. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick183 Rnd6 Cam Skattebo
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Cam Skattebo in the Round 6 slot, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick214 Rnd6 Seth McLaughlin
Value with a capital V on Seth McLaughlin in the 214th pick, a genuine coup. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick218 Rnd7 Cam Miller
They left a pile of value on the table to take Cam Miller this early at Round 7, Pick 2. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick253 Rnd7 Jack Kiser
Circle this one: Jack Kiser at the Round 7 slot is a fall that decides a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
