The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Seahawks reached some 84 spots for Akheem Mesidor, and value like that does not grow back.

Landing Carter that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

They chose more darts over a bigger single swing.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
