The phones sank the Lions this weekend: D-.

The Lions clearly saw something nobody else did in Tanor Bortolini, taking him 35 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The linebacker spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Lassiter. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and linebacker is still a hole.
