The Raiders torched the value chart for Nick Martin, taking him 47 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

Edwards falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

Bottom line, it will take a lot of luck to make this look better later.
