Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall C+
ValueF NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Raiders bet the future on Weigman. The board says C+.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Jack Kiser at the 71st overall pick is 130 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. The final tally is a middling C+.

So much rides on Conner Weigman that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want.

They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Conner Weigman
In the 7th pick they get the arm they will build around, a steep price for the projection. A real need, handled.
Pick39 Rnd2 Ashton Gillotte
Good price on Ashton Gillotte in Round 2, Pick 7, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick71 Rnd3 Jack Kiser
Value said wait; Jack Kiser in slot 71 says they were not listening. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick103 Rnd4 J.C. Davis
J.C. Davis at pick 103 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick135 Rnd5 Jonah Coleman
A real head-scratcher, Jonah Coleman in No. 135 is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick167 Rnd6 Hunter Wohler
A conviction pick on Hunter Wohler at the Round 6 slot that the board grades a round light. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick199 Rnd7 Fentrell Cypress II
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Fentrell Cypress II. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
