The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Raiders reached some 46 spots for Brady Cook, and value like that does not grow back.

The Thornton Jr. pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
