McCarthy is the plan now, and the Chargers grade out a D-.

Somebody took the Chargers to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. Put together, it is a D-.

So much rides on J.J. McCarthy that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

Keegan at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The cost of the McCarthy reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
