757RavensFan DRAFTING FOR THE49ers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
Quarterback settled, Sanders in the fold, and a B for the 49ers. After circling the position for what felt like forever, the 49ers committed. Shedeur Sanders is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
However the rest shakes out, Henderson at that price is a win they earned. They will need Ingram-Dawkins to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Shedeur Sanders
In the 11th pick they get the face of the franchise. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick43
Rnd2
Josh Conerly Jr.
A clean, defensible pick in No. 43 with a little surplus value in Josh Conerly Jr.. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick75
Rnd3
Elic Ayomanor
Elic Ayomanor at Round 3, Pick 11 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick100
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson in the Round 3 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick113
Rnd4
Zy Alexander
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Zy Alexander at pick No. 113. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick138
Rnd4
Xavier Restrepo
Circle this one: Xavier Restrepo at the 138th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick147
Rnd5
Hollin Pierce
They read the board right and Hollin Pierce was the payoff at pick 147. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick160
Rnd5
Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins
This one needs a full-page explanation: Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins in slot 160, miles early. It fills a real need, too.
Pick227
Rnd7
Teddye Buchanan
They talked themselves into Teddye Buchanan at pick 227, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick249
Rnd7
Cam Horsley
They did well to land Cam Horsley in pick No. 249, just ahead of his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick252
Rnd7
Dante Trader Jr.
Dante Trader Jr. in Round 7, Pick 36 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
