Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB FutureB-
The 49ers did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Ar'maj Reed-Adams at pick 133 is 30 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.

They banked enough surplus on Fields to cover a lot of smaller sins. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Dillon Thieneman
In slot 30 they get a downhill hitter at safety at fair value.
Pick58 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
Nothing to complain about; Jake Slaughter went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick92 Rnd3 Malachi Fields
You do not let a wide receiver like Malachi Fields reach the 92nd overall pick and blink. They did not. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick94 Rnd3 Bryce Lance
They talked themselves into Bryce Lance at Round 3, Pick 30, and the board did not agree. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick127 Rnd4 Davison Igbinosun
By-the-book stuff, Davison Igbinosun at the 127th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick133 Rnd4 Ar'maj Reed-Adams
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Ar'maj Reed-Adams. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick138 Rnd4 Kaytron Allen
Kaytron Allen at Round 4, Pick 38 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick139 Rnd4 Dametrious Crownover
No edge and no loss on Dametrious Crownover in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick170 Rnd5 Zane Durant
No drama and no debate, Zane Durant went about where he belonged in pick No. 170. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
