The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Broncos spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.

Hardy at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Job largely done: linebacker settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
