There is reaching, and then there is John Williams at the 229th pick. The Steelers jumped the board by 37 and dared it to prove them wrong. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Getting Belton where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. On the needs board they went 3 of 9, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
