There is conviction, and then there is this. The Steelers took John Williams a full 41 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
