The Steelers left with their quarterback, and a D- to match. You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Steelers did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.
LaNorris Sellers gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Getting Brazzell II where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
