The war room fell hard for Caleb Lomu, and it showed at the 22nd overall pick: 38 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
